This ceramic tile represents the historic Mission Santa Barbara, a Spanish mission founded by the Franciscan order near present-day Santa Barbara, California. It was founded by Padre Fermín Lasuén in 1786, on the feast day of Saint Barbara, as the tenth mission for the religious conversion of the indigenous local Chumash tribe of Native American people in California. The mission is the namesake of the city of Santa Barbara as well as Santa Barbara County. Mexican Tile Designs carries this and other tiles in a new line of 6" x 6" hand-painted, ceramic, raised-relief tiles that celebrate the wonderful architecture of historic missions around the world.  These fantastic tiles will add beauty and interest to any tile project, and also make great decorations and trivets. Start your own collection of these incredible tiles today!
